Bobcat Group was established to give local land and mineral rights owners the capital and opportunity to develop viable long-term energy solutions in the Permian Basin, with a focus on sustainability and growth. Founded in 2017 by Shea Morenz and William ”Scooter” Scott, Bobcat Group set out to unlock the full potential of horizontal oil and gas development in the Midland Basin by optimizing surface estates and water related operations through long-lasting symbiotic partnerships with well-respected landowners and operators.

Bobcat Group traces its roots back to historic Texas ranches like the Spike S Ranch in 1872 and the BLV Ranch in 1910, and to the Quintana Companies dating back to the 1930s. Today, Bobcat Group leverages the vast resources and experience of these storied organizations to deliver the best results to our partners.
